A Strategy for Happiness

We think that happy people and unhappy people are born that way… Both will do and live in a way that strengthen those mindsets. Happy people will continue to enjoy the mindset that helps them thrive and enjoy life. Unhappy people will continue to think negatively and self-destruct doing and accepting things to upset them.

How does a successful business operate? They have a plan and purpose for their business. They have defined their purpose and created a strategy to accomplish that purpose. The same approach can be used by people in their daily lives. Define what it is you want and create a strategy to attain it.

When a business has a planned strategy they have a buy in from their employees, they are passionate about the purpose. Everything they do in their daily operation is geared towards taking strides towards attaining the goal. Every challenging moment in the business is just another experience as a lesson to gain knowledge for improvement. All of the decisions are measured and recorded to teach the employees that the failure is a steppingstone towards success. In order to succeed you have to know what failure is. I say again…. In order to appreciate the successes you have to know what it feels like to fail.

On a personal perspective you have to have a life purpose and passion. Waking up every day knowing that you are passionate about something and you will do anything to get there. The first task involved in getting there is the mindset you will adopt daily. A true positive mindset is key in every success. To be happy every day with a purpose is so important. It gives you sustainability and strength. Nothing will get in your way. The energy you will need to fulfill your purpose is the passion you have. Life is full of experience. You cannot control what is externally influencing you on a daily basis. What you can control is the perception you have towards it.

We have to take a student’s mindset in life. We will take tests and fail but we get a chance to study more and the next day take a retake and pass. IF we wake the next day we will take into the new day the experience we need to succeed. The mindset we need to have every day is that we have a new day when we wake a new.

Am I depressed or am I Dealing with Depression?

That is a common question people ask me when they come to me for help when dealing with depression. Am I depressed? The question should always be, how can I be Happy? At least when you ask that question you are admitting you are not happy but you know the direction on which to focus on. Happiness. You have won half the battle when dealing with depression. Focus on wanting to be happy. Direct your energies towards that result. Asking, “why am I depressed?” is keeping in the state of mind of being unhappy. 

I am not a psychologist,
life coach nor am I a professional in any field behavioral science. I am a man
that has a passion for helping people and my life is committed to teaching
people how to be happy. My opinions and teachings have no agenda attached to
them other than this is what I want to do the rest of my life to give to
humanity. Right now there is so much suffering in this world that I think all
of us should contribute to the well-being of the world in some way. If the
majority of us will focus a portion of our daily lives towards this there will
be a dramatic change in consciousness.

There is a growing number of suicidal deaths in younger adults dealing with depression.(See Sucide among Youth Here) These individuals have not even given life a chance to develop into beautiful people. They are giving up on themselves. I have read children as young as 12 are taking their lives because of insecurity issues. A considerable percentage of these deaths are attributed to social media bullying. This is horrible. To me the social media aspect is out of my realm of understanding that a fake world is so influential in a young person’s life that they would take their lives. What was a fun activity of staying in touch with their friends turned into a threatening environment, as dangerous as walking in a bad neighborhood in the middle of the night. A virtual bad neighborhood. Weird! But very real along side with the stress of dealing with depression.

This is one aspect of a growing trend of dealing with depression in our world. Another growing area is in affluent adults. People with a lot of money. How the hell can they be unhappy? What triggers that part of them when they have everything? Why are these people dealing with depression? They have amassed a fortune in their careers and yet they seem to believe that they do not have anything. Is it Money cannot buy love? I have helped some individuals that have the financial freedom to go anywhere and be anything they want to be and they are unhappy [py. When posed with the question of why they are unhappy ultimately they give me that answer of being lonely. They alienate themselves from family and friends because they think everyone wants their money. Or in some cases they are ashamed because they are so “successful” they are embarrassed to be around others they know who are not in the financial situation they are in. They are not happy and cannot figure out why people in a lower financial class are more happy and abundant than they are. This fact alone haunts them and they search for external stimuli to replace the emptiness they feel from loneliness. They lie to themselves and surround themselves with superficial people and things as a substitute. This is very shallow and temporary. Eventually they realize the truth and fall in a deeper depression than before. 

First of all You have to “love Yourself” I know this is a cliché statement. This idea is very true. At least you have to accept who you are in your present reality. If you want to change this reality you have to know where you are starting from and focus on where you want to be. So instead of asking yourself “Am I Depressed?” you will start asking yourself “How can I be Happy?” Once this is figured out the work begins. It is hard work! This is a journey that never ends and always continues. When you figure out how experience victories through this work you will be addicted to the results and the problems in your life will seem ridiculous challenges that are overcome with joy. The sad and tragic moments in life will be what they are but you will appreciate the strength you receive from those experiences and can recover quicker. 

As I mentioned before, I
am just a regular person with a passion for helping people. You have decided to

Emotions are not just feelings

I often write of the perception we have in our
lives. I believe that we have a choice to observe and decide whether it is a
positive or a negative experience. We have the ability to create that emotion
on the fly. This emotion that we create can affect our health and or wellbeing.
This random choice we have can affect others around us. It is random because we
change into any state of mind at any given time.

Changing from one extreme to another is destructive
to our psyche. We take our bodies through highs and lows and extreme emotions.
These emotions are very powerful. Emotions are not just feelings, emotions are
energy that is created or re-directed and transformed into a physical property.
Emotions are energy, energy is a physical property. Our cells are comprised of
energy. Therefore our emotions are intertwined to our physical make up. Our
emotions and bodies are one in the same not a separate entity or thing.  

In order for us to stay healthy and have a clear
mind we need to regulate this creation of energy in our emotional states of
mind. If we are constantly looking positive energy, which is positive emotions
we will be at peace with ourselves and our energy will be a healing energy.
Positive emotions trigger healing and produce positive processes to be started
in our bodies. We are able to focus because we are in a calm state of mind.

When we create a negative emotional state of mind
our bodies are stressed out the majority of the time. We are burdening our
bodies with chasing the bus. We are always trying to catch something. In
essence we are running a marathon listening to a voice in our earphones telling
us we aren’t good enough, we are slow, out of shape, we are going to fail and
quit.

Every morning we should be waking up smiling and
looking at what the day will bring us. When we wake every day we should be
contemplating how we are going to be happy in any situation. I share with
people on a daily basis that they have the ability to decide happiness and joy
with the power within that realm of thought to heal themselves. The majority of
people tell me that it is a new age thought or religious believes. They are not
religious nor do they believe in any philosophy of ideas where there is no
scientific proof. They believe my way of thinking is just hocus pocus.

What I teach is science based. Changing your
mindset. Creating thought and treating it as you are creating a physical
manifestation of something out of energy. Energy IS a physical property. That
is science. It is not just an emotion or thought. It is a thought and an
emotion but yet it is also a “thing” we create.

Be aware of what you are thinking today. Be aware of
what you are creating today. You have control of that process. You are in
control of your emotional state of mind. Change it. NOW! Hurry! 

Letting go of the Stress

Letting go of the stress. We often hold on to things that do not matter. We listen to all of the criticisms and take them to heart. Our society can be a very judgmental place. We allow ourselves to internalize negative experiences when we do not have to. The decision to allow is up to us. It is so easy for me to tell you to not let things get to you but there is a process to this that we need to learn before we can condition ourselves to do so.

Before we can be a steel wall against the bad perceptions in our lives we need to have confidence in ourselves. In order to have confidence in ourselves we have to love ourselves. Loving ourselves is easier said than done. If we look in the mirror we always see our pain or the most recent thing we are thinking about. We look into our eyes and we cannot lie to ourselves. We are there. We are alive. We are ready to snap at ourselves. We have to remain focused and give our self a chance to breathe away from ourselves. We make excuses for our pain and challenges. We do not take responsibility nor do we accept that our unhappiness is of our own doing. For the most of us we are self-destructive. Everyone around us suffers and we are selfish. We take the notion that everyone is to blame for our unhappy thoughts and experiences. We do not realize how powerful we are and that we have the capacity to change our world at any given time. Sometimes after we make the decision it is instant sometimes the change happens over a period of time.

Where do we start? How do we change our lives? Again I go back to being happy. Before we can be happy we have to love ourselves. Practice writing down on a piece of paper all of our good qualities every day. At least write these descriptive words about ourselves twice a week. We have to Get in the habit of speaking good things about ourselves because that is the best way to condition or positively brainwash ourselves. That is pretty bad that we have to brainwash our self to believe we are good people. We are. We are powerful!

Record your voice on your smart phone and listen to yourself speak well of yourself. Make a video… I can go in circles with this. I know so many people that are in denial that they are unhappy with themselves. They are also the most negative people I know. They smile, laugh and give excuses for their challenges. They are convinced that their plight is worse. You tell them of your situation and or challenge and they give a response that is letting all know they don’t care because it is not about anyone else but them at this point. They want to manipulate the conversation always about them. This is not done in an intentional manner. It is innocent because they truly believe that are in a worse place than you. At this point all we can do is show them unconditional love and remind them how amazing they are and that we have control over everything. Which we do.

We have control over every perception that comes in our conscious. We have the ability to discern what is healthy and unhealthy. A challenging experience is not always unhealthy…. It is an experience to learn from. We grow with challenges. We have to accept them as a growing experience. Some of these growing experiences are not pleasurable, like tragedy or death. We know they are a part of a life cycle and we are destined to experience this emotion several times in our lives. We will lose contact with loved ones for many reasons other than death. These are life changing experiences that can be perceived as bad. We have to always hold dear our relationships as positive experiences no matter the duration.

Healthy “positive” experiences are the same as “negative” experiences. We have learned to accept each one of them oppositely. We learn from both. We embrace both experiences. One way or another we grow from both. We have to always remember this. We also have to remember it is within our power to change our course to grow out of all of our experiences.

I opened this article with letting go of the stress. We have no choice but to let go. Life should not be stressful. We have one go around according to a humanistic opinion. With all of our beliefs removed at our core we are here once and we need to “make the best of it” I know that is cliché. But it is very true at the root of the statement. Making the best of it is in your hands how you perceive that phrase. When you decide to go forward to explore what your next step is…. Think of what is important. What type of perception has to be in place and what has to be removed from your working conscious?

Love yourself for who, what and where you are at the present moment. Accept that whatever situation you are currently in you made a decision at some point that led you to that point. After you have accepted….. Decide. Decide what it is you want going forward. The only thing you should want is Happiness. Ask for it. Be passionate about this request. In your mind decide that this is the most important thing in your life that you have to achieve on your bucket list. This is the focus the rest of your life. This choice you make to be Happy is internal and cannot be gained through external situations or circumstances. This “happiness” has to become your essence before you can take anything on.
